1940s Vintage Peruvian Folk Art Pottery Vase by f.c.a

This is a vintage, red clay pottery vase made in Peru by FCA . It was hand thrown on the potters wheel and then hand-painted with folk art depictions. It is in excellent, pre owned condition. There are minimal signs of wear; no scratches, cracks crazing of glaze and no repairs evident. There are several minor production imperfections as would be expected with hand worked items (pinholes in glaze). Please see all photos for more detail on condition. The vase measures 7”H x5-1/2”W. The bottom of the vase is hand written, “FCA PERU 20”.

There is very little information on FCA. I believe the company was in business in the 1940’s and 50’s. FCA or Fabrica Ceramica Artistica, specializd in small batches using high quality materials. Because they are each hand made, the products have inherent slight imperfections.
