Japanese Tansu wardrobe Isho-Dansu from the Meiji period with iron handles. This 19th century wooden tansu is a fine example of the traditional mobile cabinets in Japan. Lacquered finish with muted red tone. Two long top drawers at the top are followed by two medium drawers on the left, and the three small drawers on the right. 1 door is missing from small drawers, which in itself is not disturbing. Front features exceptional hand-carved iron hardware with bird motifs, while the handles on the sides remind us that this piece is made for the journey. So easy to move. With its clean lines, nicely weathered appearance and handy storage space, this Tansu wardrobe from the Japanese Meiji period will add an exotic touch to any home.
