Victorian Walnut Marquetry and Gilt Ormolu Mounted Pier Cabinet with 2 Doors

A Victorian walnut two door pier cabinet/bookcase with floral marquetry and gilt ormolu mounts. English. Circa 1870.

The cabinet has the original hand blown glass to the doors. The key is also original and works the lock well. The tassel has been added. The interior is lined in red velvet, this has some signs of use. The shelf is fixed.

Originally designed as a display, this could also work well as a bookcase. It is in lovely clean condition, showing a few light signs of age. There has been a knock to the right hand side back edge at the top, which has been put back on again. This is not very noticeable. Please refer to the photographs.
